Git Some - Cosmic Rock (2008)

www.myspace.com/fuckengitsome
from: Denver, U.S.
genre: Hardcore / Punk / Stoner Rock
audio: 192 kbps

Git Some is a band from Denver, Colorado consisting of 4 dudes (including Chuck and Neil from Planes Mistaken For Stars) who grew up on 80's punk rock, Regan era America, and shitty weed, discharging cathartic bursts of noise that shatter angst and inhibitions. cosmic rock, by way of wild abandon, loud-ass guitar, bass and drums, and an explosive singer. It's all the good things about hardcore stripped of the agenda, all the great things about metal and hard rock stripped of the unnecessary machismo.

The Great Sabatini

*Highly Recomended*
.....................

~A Brief History of The Great Sabatini~
The Great Sabatini was formed in a blood ritual in the last days of November, 2006.
Each member had played previously in various underground metal and experimental acts in and around Quebec and Ontario. They met while attending a weekly support group for people with mood disorders, in particular, the rare condition of Cyclothymia. These strange commonalities created a strong personal bond among members, and was the
impetus for each one changing their respective surname to Sabatini. 2007 began with studio sessions for their debut ep "Burning Wilderness". The tracks were recorded locally (in Montreal) and then sent off to Nashville where they were polished up by friend and Rock mentor Steve Austin of Today Is The Day. Shows began locally and in the Ontario region, in preparation for their maiden voyage on the road in March 2008, heading west from Montreal to British Colombia to spread the Unholy Gospel of Rock with ripped vocal chords, broken drum sticks, tube driven amplifiers, empty bellies, a foul smelling van and an unrelenting fury. Pre production demos for 11 songs were put down live to 8 track, some of witch were used as a cdr demo entitled "Dial Tone ep" to be given away at shows with the "Burning Wilderness" ep. The band is currently using stolen prescription drugs and a ouija board to help them decide when and where/with whom to record their first full-length album. [Extensive Enterprise]

Planks - Self Titled (2008)

www.myspace.com/walkingonplanks
from: Germany
genre: Hardcore / Black Metal / Stoner
audio: 320 kbps

PLANKS from the Mannheim erea deliever on their debut full-length nice dark and heavy apocalypstic hardcore which reminds of old classics like URANUS, HIS HERO IS GONE, COALESCE and modern bands like COLISEUM. There are tons of bands playing a similar style today, but PLANKS are one of the very few that matter. Agitated immensity in explosive velocity - volatile pieces of dark gloomy hardcore fused with metallic influences in an expansively loud combination of distortion and atmospheric noise. This is destructo hardcore with everything amplified into the red to fuel powerful lyrics.

*Cave In frontman Stephen Brodsky (vocals/guitar) is a restless fellow. Pet Genius is just the latest in a long line of projects he has been involved with over the last few years. Hooking up with fellow Cave In dude J.R. Connors on drums and the Octave Museum’s Johnny Northrup on bass Pet Genius’ eclectic psyche-rocking power-pop is a natural successor to Cave In, New Idea Society and the Octave Museum. (New-Noise)
