genre: Screamo / Hardcore / Pre-95 Emo
The Trigger Quintet existed in Houston Texas from 1994-1995. Although they only played a handful of shows in their hometown of Houston, they left a lasting impression upon fans of pre-95 "emo", as they were the only band in town to play music of this style at the time. The band gained most of it's notoriety from a summer of 1995 tour with Car Bomb, from Austin, and broke up shortly after the tour.
The band record only 5 songs in their short existence - 3 for their 7" on Twistworthy Records, and two others which ended up on compilations: The Ground Rule Double CD/LP compilation, and the "Use This Coupon" 12" compilation.
Some of the bands that Trigger Quintet played with during their existence are as follows: Car Bomb, Braid, Impetus Inter, Crownhate Ruin, Spanakorzo, Cap'n Jazz, Action Patrol, Ezra Pound, Spirit Assembly, Scout, A Minor Forest, Fisticuffs Bluff, Cornelius, and the Make-Up, among many others.
